History
Though the song became a sensation almost immediately, the songwriting process for the song took almost an entire year. Everlong was released on August 18, 1997 after the May release of the album The Colour and the Shape, which was released earlier that year. This was the Foo Fighters second studio album after they released their debut album Foo Fighters.
